Oak Class Home Learning

 

We miss you already! You may not be in the school building, but you are still “at school” and should be completing work every day, unless you are ill.  Please make sure that you let me know how you are getting on by uploading your work, messages, photos, videos to your seesaw journal.

Daily To Dos!     Activities for every day

 

Read, Read, Read! 

for at least 30 minutes.  This can be an actual book, but if you’re struggling to find texts

try epic (see below) or audible who are offering free access to children’s audiobooks  https://stories.audible.com/start-listen

Please record yourself reading from your book at least once this week and send it to me through Seesaw. (Booksnap Activity) 

 

Maths

Choose the levels you normally complete for homework. Challenge yourself to try 2 levels! (eg Bronze & Silver)

Spelling 

Mrs Drew's group:

Test yourself on the -igh words. Let us know how many you got correct. 

Find 2 words each day in your reading book with oa words (e.g. boat) send us a list of what you found.

Go to Phonics Play website. See below for further instructions...

Mrs Deverson's Group:

How many -le words can you remember from last week? Try to write down at least 10. Ask an adult to check the spelling.

Write a list of words that  end in -el, -il or -al to make a "ul" sound. Aim for at least 10.

Look for them in your reading book.

Can you use the words you have found to write a story?

Mrs Green's group:

Test yourself on last week's spellings. Ask an adult to check your spelling.

Please write a letter or a postcard or draw a picture to someone in a care home.

At the moment they are not allowed visitors and some elderly people are feeling lonely and cut off from the outside world. They would love something through the post that they could read and share in the care or nursing homes. Ask an adult to help you address the envelope to (a place close to Mrs Johnson's heart):

I will set activities on Seesaw. You can access this from home by

Downloading the seesaw CLASS app.  You can down this from the app store or Google Play. (It is free)

Seesaw can also be accessed from the website  https://web.seesaw.me/

  

The best way to access seesaw is with an email. Please send me an email message and I will add your email to your seesaw account. This can be yours or your parents/carer.
