Homework will consist of the following every week.

Reading - at least 15 mins per night

Practise spellings and times tables - 15 mins per night

Spelling test

Comprehension, GPS & Maths tasks due

Tables test

Encourage your child to read for pleasure  and information at home, frequently and from varied text genres and sources. Show your child that you are also a reader, as this is the key to life long learning, way beyond school days.

Reading Journal
Please help your child to complete the tasks and sign them each week so they can get their reading reward.

Children will be given a short worksheet to practise key arithmetic skills or SATs style problem solving.

It is expected, and essential, that children can recall table facts quickly and accurately and should continue to practise regularly.

English homework will consist of a short reading comprehension and a punctuation or grammar activity.
Children will be given key words to learn to spell  each week and tested on Mondays in a discrete spelling lesson.

It is anticipated that written homework (comprehension, maths & GPS)  tasks should take no longer than 1/2 hour each. Reading journals should take about 20 mins to complete.
